Torrefazione Monforte Srl was founded in 1999 with the aim of creating espresso coffee blends with a distinctive flavor and aroma. To achieve this goal, the master roaster Magda Katsoura, a qualified botanist, personally visits the coffee plantations to taste and select the best raw materials that she can use thanks to her rich knowledge and experience.

The fine Caffè Monforte blends are produced in a certified roastery in the heart of Italy, in Molise, an area without air pollution and dry climate, which is very important for the roasting of green coffee.

The wide range of products includes coffee blends in beans, ground coffee, pods and capsules, available in different formats, meeting the needs of the numerous international markets in which they have been operating for over twenty years.

Today, the roastery is one of the most technologically and ecologically innovative in Europe, working in compliance with ethical codes to support plantation farmers, the ecosystem and global biodiversity.

In addition, since its creation, Torrefazione Monforte has been collaborating with the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Molise on subjects of scientific interest and environmental sustainability.

The Torrefazione Monforte raw materials warehouse contains more than 18 different origins of Arabica and Robusta green coffee, conventionally and organically grown, from strictly selected plantations in Central America, Africa and Asia.

This allows us to satisfy the most refined palates of coffee lovers around the world, creating ad hoc blends with distinctive characteristics for different in-cup extractions, such as espresso, mocha, ibrik and filter.

The roasting machines are equipped with the most advanced technology that ensures a roasting process perfectly managed by electronic and digital systems, reducing emissions of polluting gases and volatile particles into the atmosphere thanks to the double filtration of the vapors generated during the roasting process and thanks to the reuse of the filtered hot air for maintenance a constant temperature inside the roasting drum saves energy.

The 6 packaging lines make it possible to meet the multiple needs of the world market, offering different types of packaging that, thanks to vacuum and modified atmosphere packaging, preserve the organoleptic properties of the coffee blends in beans, ground coffee, pods and capsules.

To ensure high quality standards, the production process includes three stages of selection:

  • The first is carried out at the beginning of the production process and removes foreign bodies from the green coffee;

  • the second selection is made by the roasting machine itself during roasting, by magnets that retain any metal bodies;

  • The third selection occurs at the end of the roasting process and before packaging, when the roasted coffee is sieved through an optical sorter.
