Collection: Altitude Coffee

In 2015, between a career leap and starting an architecture degree, our co-founder got up at 4am to run the opening shift at Philz Coffee (in case you don't know, it's a homegrown SF coffee chain with house roasts, which is only poured over). As crazy as it sounds, she had a penchant for getting up so early to serve coffee to the half-sleeping, half-awake early risers at SoMa San Franciscans. She looked forward to the regulars with their quirky orders and incredible life stories (or that rare gem who just wants a black coffee), to working at the bar that thrives on the pure caffeine fumes, to laughing with the fellow baristas and the wildly diverse community that a coffee shop, or rather just coffee, creates.

These are just a few of the many reasons Lilian knew she would one day break into the coffee industry. Addicted (dare we say coffee addicted), she spent the next few years researching, learning, jotting down notes and ideas from her travels to make Altitude. As a designer, Lilian is a certified LEED Green Associate. She has always been passionate about sustainable design, but believes that the principles of sustainability can also be applied to the way we live and do business. This brings us full circle with Lilian and Jeff's love of the great outdoors and the camper code: "Leave No Trace". You pack and unpack. You leave your base camp better than you found it. All of these guiding principles together laid the foundation for what is to come.

mission

For every trip. For each.

Our mission is to promote inclusion. Sorry coffee elite. We want everyone, everywhere, to be able to enjoy high-quality, ethical specialty coffee. No fancy gear required unless that's your thing. We want to break the stigma that you can't enjoy quality specialty coffee unless you prepare it a certain way. While it's a fact that there are optimal ways to enjoy a great cup of coffee, we also know that there isn't one brewing method that everyone on the planet prefers.

For the planet. For our community.

We value longevity. We recognize that every decision we make affects the longevity of our home, our future generations and our communities. With this in mind, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce our ecological footprint and give back to Mother Earth what we take away from her. We are committed to continuing our own education in eco-friendly, sustainable practices and working with vendors consistent with our mission. We will also always strive to inspire you, our Altitude family, to climb higher together, one cup at a time, for the greater good.

As a member of 1% for the Planet , we join 3000+ other companies like Patagonia, Klean Kanteen and Boxed Water who are doing something about the global climate crisis. Who knew your morning coffee could change the world?
