One day, or something like that, I told my partner in crime that it was time to fulfill our small but unfulfilled wish of independence. It's not that we aren't busy with our jobs, but I thought it would be incredibly satisfying to invest part of the available time in your own project.
Driven by the idea of making coffee roasts from all over the world available in Switzerland, we put our heads together several times and roughly outlined the purpose of our own company. It quickly became clear to me that this plan is not entirely without it. Did you know, for example, that coffee imports in Switzerland are almost completely exempt from import duties thanks to free trade agreements, but that import duties are due on coffee imported from the USA? Or that coffee is considered a foodstuff that must be stored and that the federal government maintains stocks for emergency supplies?
A lot of research work was therefore necessary in order to clarify all coffee-specific framework conditions in addition to the documents and processes for the act of founding the company. After around two months, the time had come: the company, finest.x GmbH, was founded, a bank account was opened, a franking license was obtained and the first orders were placed with the roasting companies.
Soon we will celebrate the long-awaited launch of the web shop.
